UNDERSTANDING PEELS

What is a chemical peel?

A professional chemical peel uses carefully selected exfoliating acids or other active ingredients to encourage the shedding of surface skin cells and support skin renewal. Different formulations act at different depths and have different recovery profiles. The right peel depends on your skin concerns, history and suitability.

Our approach is tailored rather than fixed. We assess your skin before selecting the product, preparation and treatment schedule. Depending on your skin’s needs, your treatment may also incorporate complementary modalities such as LED light therapy, dermaplaning or high frequency, where appropriate for your chosen peel and skin condition.

OUR PEEL COLLECTION

Professional formulations, chosen for your skin.

BioRePeel

Our main peel offering. BioRePeel is a professional biphasic peel based on trichloroacetic acid and other ingredients. It is designed to support skin renewal and improve the appearance of uneven texture, dullness and selected blemish related concerns. Visible peeling may be limited for some clients, but sensitivity and flaking can still occur.

Dermaceutic

A range of professional chemical peel formulations, including glycolic and other acid based options, selected to suit concerns such as uneven tone, texture and congestion. Strength and recovery vary by the specific peel.

Clinicare

Professional peel options used where appropriate for concerns including dullness, blemish prone skin and uneven texture. The exact formulation is chosen following your assessment.

WHAT CAN PEELS HELP WITH?

Targeted skin renewal.

Dullness and rough texture

Exfoliation can help reveal a smoother, brighter looking complexion over time.

Congestion and blemish prone skin

Selected peels may help reduce the appearance of congestion and support a clearer looking complexion.

Uneven skin tone

Some formulations may help improve the appearance of superficial discolouration and post blemish marks. Suitability depends on the type of pigmentation.

Fine lines

A course of appropriate superficial peels may soften the appearance of fine lines and improve overall skin texture.

YOUR APPOINTMENT

What happens during a peel?

01 · Skin assessment

We discuss your concerns, medical history, skincare routine and any recent treatments before choosing a peel.

02 · Preparation

The skin is cleansed and prepared. Some peels require a period of home skin preparation before treatment.

03 · Professional application

The selected formulation is applied according to its specific protocol. You may notice tingling, warmth or stinging.

04 · Recovery plan

You receive tailored aftercare and advice about when to resume your usual skincare routine.

DOWNTIME AND RESULTS

Will my skin peel afterwards?

Not necessarily. Some professional peels, including BioRePeel, are often chosen for a lower level of visible flaking, while others can cause noticeable dryness, peeling and redness. A lack of visible peeling does not mean the treatment has not worked.

Your skin may feel temporarily tight, warm or sensitive. Results and recovery depend on the peel formulation, strength, skin type and treatment plan. A series of treatments may be recommended for ongoing concerns, but results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

AFTERCARE

Looking after your skin.

Keep it gentle

Use the gentle skincare recommended after your appointment. Avoid scrubs, retinoids, exfoliating acids and other irritating actives until advised to restart them.

Prioritise sun protection

Use broad spectrum SPF as directed and avoid excessive sun exposure. Freshly treated skin can be more vulnerable to irritation and pigmentation changes.

Allow recovery

Avoid picking flaking skin, unnecessary heat and activities that increase irritation during the initial recovery period. Your exact aftercare depends on the peel used.

SAFETY AND SUITABILITY

A personalised assessment matters.

Professional peels are not suitable for everyone. We review active skin infections, damaged or irritated skin, recent sun exposure, allergies, medication including isotretinoin, pregnancy or breastfeeding where relevant to the formulation, recent procedures and your history of pigmentation changes or poor healing.

Potential risks include prolonged redness, irritation, blistering, post inflammatory pigmentation, infection and, rarely, scarring. The suitability and depth of each peel are assessed before treatment.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Chemical peel FAQs.

Is BioRePeel a deep peel?

No. BioRePeel is generally used as a professional superficial to medium depth treatment depending on the formulation and protocol. We will explain the specific peel selected and expected recovery before treatment.

Does BioRePeel always cause visible peeling?

No. Some people experience minimal visible flaking, while others notice dryness or peeling. The degree of visible peeling is not a reliable measure of the treatment benefit.

How many chemical peels will I need?

Some clients book a single treatment for skin refreshment, while more persistent concerns may benefit from a course. The number and spacing depend on the formulation, your skin and treatment goals.

Can chemical peels help pigmentation?

Certain peels can help selected pigmentation concerns, but not all pigmentation responds the same way. Melasma and darker skin tones require particularly careful assessment to minimise the risk of worsening pigmentation.

Are chemical peels the same as DÉCAAR Algae Peel?

No. DÉCAAR Algae Peel is a distinct professional treatment with its own application and aftercare approach. We offer a separate page to explain it in detail.

Can I use my normal skincare after a peel?

Not immediately in every case. We will explain which products to use and when to restart active ingredients such as retinoids and exfoliating acids.

Your skin deserves the right peel.
